SCL, Hong Kong, China (updated)
A quality system satisfying ISO 17025 is in place.
The QS covers all calibration services provided by SCL.
The bulk of the services (DC, LF, RF, Temp, Humidity, Mass and related quantities, dimensional, force) are third Party accredited by HKAS/HOKLAS.
HOKLAS/HKAS use international peers for technical assessors.
HKAS/HOKLAS fulfils the requirements of ISO Guide 58, and is a signatory to the APLAC and ILAC MRAs.

NML, CSIR, South Africa (updated)
A quality system satisfying ISO Guide 25/ISO 17025 is in place.
The QS covers all test/calibration/measurement services provided by NML, CSIR.
It is undergoing third party accreditation by SANAS. Expects completion by August 2004.
SANAS uses both international and local peers for technical assessments.
SANAS fulfils the requirements of ISO Guide 58 and is a signatory to the ILAC MRA.

NIMT, Thailand (updated)
A quality system satisfying ISO Guide 25 is in place. It is being extended to satisfy ISO 17025 requirements.
It covers the test/calibration/measurement services provided by NIMT.
The Electrical, Mass, Pressure and Length Laboratories of NIMT has been accredited by DKD. The Temperature and the extension of scope for Electrical, Mass and Pressure are in the process of being DKD accredited.
The other areas will make use of a project funded by APEC for peer review of NIMT by APMP NMI experts guided by an APLAC representative as team leader.
DKD uses experts from PTB as technical assessors.
DKD fulfils the requirements of ISO Guide 58 and is a signatory to the ILAC MRA.
NIMT is also setting up a quality system satisfying ISO 9001 to cover all of its operations. It is undergoing third party certification by MASCI which is accredited by JAS-ANZ . Expects completion by December 2003.

MSL, IRL, New Zealand (updated)

A quality system satisfying ISO 9001/ISO14000 is in place.
It covers all areas and all operations of MSL.
IRL is certified to ISO 9001/14000 by Telarc Ltd.
MSL is currently being assessed by (IANZ) for accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025. The initial assessment of the Quality System and Mass/Pressure capabilities was carried out in April 2003. Remaining technical assessments are scheduled as follows, Time/Frequency (including Radio Frequency) in September 2003, Length in October 2003, Photometry/Radiometry, Electrical and Temperature in November 2003.

NML, CSIRO, Australia (updated)

A quality system satisfying ISO/IEC 17025 is in place.
It covers all of the test/calibration/measurement services provided by NML.
Except for the radio frequency and microwave (RFM) area, these services are accredited by NATA to ISO/IEC 17025; RFM is expected to be accredited by end of 2003.
NATA uses international peers for technical assessments.
NATA fulfils the requirements of ISO Guide 58 and is a signatory to the APLAC and ILAC MRAs.

NARL, AGAL Australia (updated)
AGAL operates a Quality Management System that is certified by NCSI to ISO9001.
This Quality Management System covers all the functions of NARL.
NARLÕs Pure Substance Reference Materials team has NATA accreditation to ISO Guide 34 and ILAC G12:2000.
NARLÕs Matrix Reference Material and Proficiency Testing team has NATA accreditation to ILAC G13:2000 as a provider of proficiency testing services.
NARLÕs Primary Methods team functions conform to ISO/IEC 17025 but are not yet formally accredited. This is being considered.
All activities of NARL were peer reviewed by a team from the CCQM in November 2001.
AGAL maintains 14 other separate third party NATA technical accreditationÕs to ISO Guide 25/ISO IEC 17025 in 7 fields of testing/analytical services.

NATA fulfils the requirements of ISO Guide 58 and is a signatory to the APLAC and ILAC MRAs.
NATA uses international peers for technical assessments.
NCSI fulfils the requirements of ISO Guide 62 and is accredited by a member of IAF.
[National Analytical Reference Laboratory (NARL), Australian Government Analytical Laboratories (AGAL)]
 
ARPANSA, Australia (updated)
The Personal Radiation Monitoring Service accredited by NATA to ISO/IEC 17025 in April 2002 using local and international assessors and is to be re-assessed in Nov 2003.
The Radio Frequency Calibration Laboratory was accredited by NATA to ISO/IEC 17025 in August 2002 and was successfully reassessed in May 2003.
The Medical Radiation BranchÕs Ionising Radiation Calibration service submitted its Quality documentation to NATA in May 03 - yet to be assessed.
The Environmental & Radiation Health BranchÕs CTBT Radionuclide Lab submitted its Quality documentation to NATA in August 03 - yet to be assessed.
Five other service activities are developing documentation for NATA accreditation to ISO 17025 to be submitted by end 2004.
Regulatory (Licensing Branch) to be submitted to NATA for certification to ISO 9001:2000 by end 2004.
Corporate Services to follow.
NATA fulfils the requirements of ISO Guide 58 and is a signatory to the APLAC and ILAC MRAs.
[Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA)]

CMS/ITRI Chinese Taipei (updated).

A quality system satisfying ISO 17025 is in place.
It covers all calibration/measurement services provided by CMS/ITRI.
CMS/ITRI have been third party accredited by CNLA.
CNLA uses international peers as technical assessors.
CNLA operates to ISO Guide 58 and is a signatory to both APLAC and ILAC MRAs.
ITRI, including CMS, is certified to ISO 9001 by TUV Rhineland.

INER, Chinese Taipei (updated)

A quality system satisfying ISO 17025 is in place.
It covers all calibration/measurement services provided by INER.
Calibration/measurement services in X-ray, Gamma-ray and Radioactivity areas have been third party accredited by CNLA.
CNLA used international peers and local experts as technical assessors.
CNLA operates to ISO Guide 58 and is a signatory to both APLAC and ILAC MRAs.

TL (Telecommunications Laboratories), Chinese Taipei (updated)
A quality system satisfying ISO 17025 is in place.
It covers all calibration/measurement services provided by TL.
Calibration/measurement services in Time and Frequency areas have been third party accredited by CNLA.
CNLA used international peers and local experts as technical assessors.
CNLA operates to ISO Guide 58 and is a signatory to both APLAC and ILAC MRAs.
TL is certified to ISO 9001 by SGS (Taiwan).

NIM, China (updated)
A quality system satisfying ISO Guide 25/ISO 17025 is in place.
It covers all of the test/measurement/calibration services provided by NIM.
640 items of calibration services, which cover all the CMCs of NIM already in the BIPM database, as well as the CMCs submitted for entering the BIPM database, have been third-party accredited by CNAL.
CNAL used local peers as technical assessors.
NIM accepted a peer review organized by APMP secretariat in Nov. 2002. The review team consisted of a quality system expert from Japan and 5 technical peers from Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand and Australian. The reviewed fields cover Electricity and Magnetism, Length and Dimensional Measurement, Mass and Related quantities, Photometry and Radiometry, Thermometry.
CNAL is a third-party accreditation body fulfilling the requirements of ISO Guide 58 and a signatory to the APLAC and ILAC MRAs.

NML-SIRIM Bhd, Malaysia (updated)
A quality system satisfying ISO 17025 is in place.
It covers all the calibration/measurement services provided by NMC, SIRIM Berhad.
It will seek accreditation for two thirds of the above services through DSM.
DSM will use international peers as technical assessors.
DSM operates to ISO Guide 58.
DSM is a signatory to APLAC and ILAC MRAs.

NML, ITDI, The Philippines
A quality system satisfying ISO/IEC 17025 is being established and will be in place by the fourth quarter of 2002.
It will cover middle and higher accuracy levels of measurements in all the major areas in the laboratory.
Expects to apply to APEC for funding a peer review with peers from other APMP NMIs as technical assessors and an APLAC representative to lead the team and provide guidance.

VMI, Vietnam
A quality system satisfying ISO 17025 is in place.
It covers the major test/measurement/calibration services of the laboratory. The rest will be covered by December 2001.
Some areas have been accredited by VILAS.
VILAS used both local and international experts for technical assessments.
VILAS operates to ISO Guide 58 and is a signatory to APLAC and ILAC MRAs.

KRISS, Korea (updated)

A quality system satisfying ISO 9001/ISO 17025/ISO Guide 34 is in place.
It covers all test/calibration/production of reference materials areas.
KRISS is certified to ISO 9001 by the Korea Foundation for Quality (KFQ).
KFQ is operating to ISO Guide 62 and is accredited by the Korea Accreditation Board (KAB) which is a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).
All test/calibration/certification of reference materials areas were reviewed by international peers during September 2001 - November 2002.

NMIJ, Japan (updated)

A quality system satisfying ISO/IEC 17025 is in place for the calibration/testing services of NIMJ.
A quality system satisfying ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO Guide 34 is in place for the production of reference materials part.
Two systems cover most of the calibration/testing service and the production of reference material.
They are assessed by NITE through ASNITE-NMI program combined with international technical peer reviews.
A part of NMIJ service is already accredited through ASNITE-NMI program. Accreditation process for some technical areas by the NITE is still going on. Assessments to other areas by the international peers and the NITE are scheduled through the end of 2003.
ASNITE is the comprehensive accreditation system run independently by IAJapan, NITE according to the international standards and requirement of ISO 58. IAJapan, NITE is a signatory of the APLAC and ILAC MRAs.

CRL, Japan (updated)
A quality system satisfying ISO 17025 is in place.
It covers frequency calibration service provided by CRL.
CRL has been accredited by NITE to ISO/IEC 17025 in January 2003.
NITE used international peers as technical assessors.
NITE fulfils the requirements of ISO Guide 58 and is a signatory to the APLAC and ILAC MRAs.

KIM-LIPI, Indonesia (updated)
A quality system satisfying ISO 17025 is being set up and will be in place by December 2003.
It will cover all test/measurement/calibration services provided by KIM-LIPI.
KIM-LIPI will seek third party accreditation through KAN in 2004 for some of the areas and in 2005 for the rest.

SPRING, Singapore
A quality system satisfying ISO Guide 25/17025 is in place.
It covers all test/measurement/calibration services.
Will seek peer review through SAC-SINGLAS using international peers as technical assessors.
SAC-SINGLAS operates to ISO Guide 58 and is a signatory to the APLAC and ILAC MRAs.

NPL, India (updated)
A quality system satisfying ISO-17025 is in place.
It covers test/measurement/calibration services of NPLI.
NPLI will be following pathway 'C' for Peer Review through the Indian accreditation agency, NABL.
Peer reviews of the Electrical & Electronic area, the Photometry & Radiometry area and the Mass, Vacuum & Pressure areas will held during period Nov 2003 to Jan 2004.
Indian Accreditation agency NABL operates to ISO Guide 58 and is a signatory to the APLAC and ILAC MRAs.
