APMP Technical Activity Award
Dr. Takehiro Morioka
NMIJ, Japan
It was a great honour to receive the APMP Technical Activity Award as an outgoing EC member. I was responsible for liaising with other international organizations, particularly APEC SCSC, as well as with other Specialist Regional Bodies. This work involves outreach and connecting with international and regional organizations, which you might have some impression of. However, to increase APMP's value beyond where it stands today, such international work is crucial, as APMP itself is also an international organization. While I am still unsure of the specific contributions I made to APMP, I am confident that APMP has maintained strong connections with other SRBs. I hope that APMP will continue to make significant contributions to regional and international issues from the high-level perspective of metrology.

I am extremely honoured to receive the APMP Technical Activity Award in recognition of my time serving as an APMP EC member, where I devoted myself to contribute to the APMP community over the past four years. It’s been so grateful for me to learn and work with the APMP Chairs (Director Fang and Dr. Park) and the EC members (Director Charoensook, Dr. Teo, Dr. Morioka, Dr. Samuel, Dr. Gopal, Dr. Gao and, Dr. Goh) as a great team to establish the successful APMP community. As my primary work is to facilitate the TCI/FGI programme, I want to express my appreciation to the TC Chairs and FG Chairs, as well as my EC colleagues, for their support of me building sustainable metrological infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific region. The last, but not the least, I want to express special thanks the APMP Secretariat's past and present for the endless support behind the scenes. With all the support from my APMP colleagues, I tried and I will continue to try my hardest to serve APMP to the best of my abilities.

What a pleasure it was to work with the members of the APMP TCPR over the past three years in my role as TC chair. In these 'post pandemic' years, we have been able to both meet in person and take advantage of the growth in online options to progress our objectives.
It has been especially good to see the growth in depth of participation from a wider range of economies. Demand for photometric and radiometric measurements is increasing and the NMIs of our region are responding.
Some interesting challenges lie ahead such as contributing to the discussion around the adoption of cone fundamentals for photometry, evolution of lighting and display technologies, and digitalization. This exciting new work is balanced with our ongoing need to underpin the reliability of our measurement scales with timely comparisons and peer review.
I am very encouraged by the dedication and enthusiasm of the P&R community in APMP and am sure that with the new chairperson, Dr. Hiroshi Shitomi, leading us we will continue to grow our effectiveness.

It is a great honor for me to have served as the chair of the TCQM for the last three years. I am also grateful to receive an APMP Technical Activity Award in recognition of my efforts and contributions in that role. Thank you to all for supporting me to carry out the role. The TCQM is one of the most active TCs in APMP. The TCQM activities are getting stronger and the number of comparisons is increasing for the implementation and maintenance of the CIPM MRA in chemical and biological metrology area, which means that we need more strategic approach to handle the increasing number of comparisons. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, TCQM activities were mostly on-line during the first half of my term, and it was very difficult to have strategic discussions to structure the TCQM to efficiently carry out regional comparison programs. We could have on-site meetings from 2023 APMP GA and related meetings, and I felt that the enthusiasm of the participants was very high. I expect that we will do more strong collaborations to provide better metrology services. At this moment, I carefully say that my efforts on the theme were more than a half-success. I am sure that the new TCQM chair, Dr. Tang Lin Teo, HSA of Singapore, will lead the TCQM activities in a more ordered and efficient way.
As final words, I sincerely appreciate all the supports and encouragements from TCQM members, and their supports helped me to carry out my role successfully.

My last three years as TCT Chair have been an invaluable experience. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my deepest gratitude to all the TCT members, TC Chairs, EC members, APMP Chairperson, APMP Secretariat, and former TCT Chair, Dr. Inseok Yang of KRISS, for their swift, appropriate, and generous support.
As TCT Chair, I have worked to ease the burden on CMC reviewers, support CMC submissions and TCI/FGI project applications, and facilitate the smooth progress of international comparisons. While some tasks remain unfinished, we are fortunate to have an outstanding successor, Dr. Xiaojuan Feng of NIM. With her leadership, I am confident that we can successfully address these challenges.

It has been a great honour and privilege to serve as the APMP TCEM Chair over the past three years. Since joining the APMP TCEM family in 2013, I have had numerous opportunities to learn from esteemed senior colleagues, contribute to this vibrant community, and was honoured to receive the APMP Iizuka Young Metrologist Award in 2017.
As the first APMP TCEM Chair with a Radio Frequency background, I am especially grateful for the unwavering support and encouragement of former TCEM Chairs from NMC, NMIA, NMIJ, MSL, and KRISS. Their guidance made my journey both smooth and rewarding. The friendships and supportive environment within TCEM have been a constant source of inspiration, motivating me to give my best to this community.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to APMP Chair Dr. Hyun-Min Park and the EC members for their outstanding leadership and support. I also deeply appreciate the APMP Secretariat team—the unsung heroes—for their dedication and hard work behind the scenes.
Finally, I am confident that under the leadership of the new Chair, Dr. Xiaohai Cui (NIM), TCEM will continue to grow and achieve even greater success.

It was my great pleasure to serve as the Chair of the APMP Energy Efficiency Focus Group, and I feel privileged to receive the APMP Technical Award in recognition of this work. I have been blessed with a long and fruitful association with APMP, becoming the Chair of the TCEM in 2007, then the Inaugural Lead TC Chair, which was recognized by an APMP award, and finally and somewhat surprisingly, The EEFG Chair. Adding value to APMP and its members has been one of the highlights of my career and a personally rewarding experience. It would not have been possible without the support of many APMP colleagues. I would like to thank particularly Ms. Ajchara Charoensook, past Chair of EEFG, Dr. Oijai Ongrai, current EEFG Chair, Dr. Hyung-Kew Lee, the Vice Chair, who both worked tirelessly to understand the needs of the regional energy sector, showcase metrology to its leaders and liaise across APMP and beyond, and Dr. Yusong Meng, the former TCEM Chair with whom we ran numerous joints events. A special thank you also goes to colleagues from the EURAMET Metrology Network on Smart Grids, Dr. Gert Rietveld (VSL, The Netherlands) and Dr. Stefano Lodetti (NPL, UK). My best wishes to everyone at APMP – I’m confident that great things are just starting, and look forward to continuing being part of this wonderful work!
